Ich bin 1967 in Lehrte geboren und lebe seitdem nahezu ununterbrochen in Ahlten / Han.

Als Absolvent der Universität Hannover interessiere ich mich nicht nur für die dort erworbenen Kenntnisse im Bereich der Elektrotechnik, sondern bin an vielen Themen interessiert und Wikipedia und Wictionary sind die bevorzugten Quellen auf der Suche nach Antworten auf meine Fragen!

Seit einigen Jahren beschäftige ich mich mehr und mehr mit der Geschichte, Traditionen und Eigenheiten meiner Heimat: Ahlten, Hannover, die Region, Niedersachsen ...

Besonders die Sprache unserer Urahnen (Plattdeutsch) in Südniedersachsen (Ostfälisch) und im Raum Hannover (Calenberger Platt) haben es mir angetan. Mein Lieblingsspruch: "Eck hebbe süss nems an'n Mase 'eklaiet as meck sülmst!" Die Kürze und Klarheit der Aussage prägt den gesamten Norden unserer Republik!

I was born in 1967 in Lehrte and since then I live almost continuously in Ahlten / Hanover.

As a graduate of the University of Hanover, I am not only interested in the knowledge I have acquired in the field of electrical engineering, but am interested in many topics and Wikipedia and Wictionary are the preferred sources in search of answers to my questions!

For several years now, I have been working more and more with the history, traditions and peculiarities of my homeland: Ahlten, Hanover, the region, Lower Saxony ...

Especially the language of my ancestors (Plattdeutsch: Low-German) in southern Lower Saxony (Eastphalian) and in the area of Hanover ("Calenberger Platt") appealed to me.

My favorite saying, the brevity and clarity of the statement characterizes the entire north of Germany:

"Eck hebbe süss nems an'n Mase 'eklaiet as meck sülmst!" - sorry, this is not translatable, but:

"Wat schall ek daun?" - "What shall I do?" - English and Low-German ...

It has become a hobby to find the same words in the English and German languages. These are not always easy to recognize, as the meaning of words has developed considerably over centuries or even more than a millennium. The Low German as a link helps enormously to lift the veil. I will leave my thoughts on this in appropriate places on the discussion pages. As a German, however, I will not make any changes to articles in the English Wictionary.
